Rubble

For 1/2 years I’ve driven past this spot where a trailer once sat. It’s been a visible reminder of “that day, that time” when one of ours was so very far from us-not physically but emotionally and spiritually far from truth. It was a time of bleak wandering. Tears and fear threatened to choke out hope.

But God.

He was still there in the suffering and was slowly bringing all the hidden things into light, into healing.

Driving past this same place yesterday I saw a collapsed pile of rubble. Once a spot that physically made my stomach turn, I saw Gods light shining over this spot. The trees, I’d never noticed the trees before.

Restoration. Jesus wants to take our spiritual rubble and cover it in compassion. It’s often hard for us to realize he truly does forgive, love and restores us.

Sometimes our lives have to be reduced to rubble for us to see that even the mess can be used by God and built back into beautiful.
